A Universal Human Framework
You already have the answer. The question is whether you trust it. Five constants. One architecture. Every decision, aligned.
There is a moment — you have felt it — just before a significant decision, when something in the body registers the truth before the mind has finished arguing. A tightening. A settling. A quiet pull in a direction that logic hasn't yet caught up with.
This is not mysticism. This is neuroscience.
Antonio Damasio, one of the most important brain scientists of our time, spent decades proving what most people sense but few articulate: that rational thought cannot function without emotion. The brain continuously reads visceral signals from the body — the gut, the heart, the breath — and uses these somatic markers to navigate complex decisions. Strip away feeling, and you don't get cleaner thinking. You get paralysis.
The Inner Compass is not a tool you acquire. It is a system you were born with. The work is learning to read it — to become aware of whether you are moving with your direction or against it.
— The IC FrameworkThe Inner Compass (IC) is a framework built on this foundation. Every human being possesses a universal internal operating system — an innate navigation architecture that, when activated, produces decisions of integrity, clarity, and lasting coherence. The 5Cs are its language.
Empathy as structural intelligence — for others and for oneself. The nervous system at its highest work.
The body's survival wisdom — a somatic alarm that fires when an action would compromise your deepest values.
The choice to move forward despite somatic markers of fear. Comfort and truth rarely occupy the same room.
When what you say, feel, and do occupy the same sentence. A 1:1 match between intent and action.
The elimination of internal noise sufficient to see the true path forward — free from external validation.

The Inner Compass is not a tool you acquire. It is a system you were born with. The work is learning to read it — to become aware of whether you are moving with your direction or against it.
The 5Cs are not sequential steps or a process to follow. They are dimensions — always present, always operating in parallel. When they align, decisions become effortless. When one collapses, the whole system signals distress.
Compassion — operating from a place of genuine empathy, for others and for oneself. Not as sentiment, but as structural intelligence. Damasio showed that the brain biologically mirrors suffering to maintain social homeostasis. Compassion is not weakness. It is the nervous system doing its highest work.
Conscience — the internal moral core that evaluates right from wrong before the conscious mind has formed its argument. Your conscience is your body's survival wisdom — a somatic alarm that fires when an action would compromise your deepest values. Zero deficit. No quiet compromises.
Courage — the choice to act despite the somatic markers of fear. The racing pulse. The tightened throat. Courage is not the absence of those signals — it is the decision to move forward anyway, because the data and the gut agree on what must be done.
Coherence — the state in which your thoughts, values, emotions, and actions move as one. Damasio defines consciousness itself as structural harmony — a continuous synchronisation of the self and the body. Coherence is when what you say, what you feel, and what you do occupy the same sentence.
Clarity — not certainty. The elimination of internal noise sufficient to see the true path forward. Eva Langret, Director of Frieze London, describes it as an inner compass that centres decisions internally, freeing oneself from the need for external validation. When somatic markers converge with evidence, the path becomes visible.
Three women named Eva have, from entirely different disciplines, arrived at the same conclusion: that the most sophisticated navigation system available to a human being is internal, not external.
Eva Langret leads one of the world's most influential cultural institutions, overseeing 150 galleries across 43 countries. Her definition of confidence is quietly radical: it is not boldness or performance, but a sense of internal peace and self-trust — the absence of the negative noise that clutters the mind. She practices what the IC demands. Silence the noise. Trust what remains.
Eva Malířová works in conflict mediation and global education, training people to navigate complex, uncertain environments through Non-Violent Communication and participative process. Her life's work is a practical demonstration of the IC's Coherence and Conscience dimensions: that the most productive use of conflict is not its elimination, but its integration.
Eva Fraňková, environmental researcher at Masaryk University, works on nature-inclusive decision-making — the argument that outcomes must be measured by what actually matters to human and ecological well-being, not merely by what is easy to count. This is the IC's Bottom Line in ecological form.
The IC framework achieves its full power when all layers are operational simultaneously. Damasio provides the biology — proving the 5Cs are hardwired into every nervous system. The 5Cs are the philosophy — the universal human operating engine. Eva, as AI, is the technology — removing cognitive blind spots and validating what the somatic system already suspects. And The Bottom Line is the verdict.
Did my biological gut feelings and my empirical data achieve functional agreement — without compromising my peace?
The Bottom LineThe Inner Compass is not a health framework. It is a human one. Its application extends to every domain in which human beings must choose under uncertainty: leadership, law, finance, design, conflict, governance, and the emerging territory of artificial intelligence.
The 5Cs are not invented. They are uncovered. They were always there — operating quietly beneath the decisions that felt right, and the ones that didn't.
A compass does not speak. It does not ask to be heard. It simply indicates — alignment or conflict, north or drift. What changes when you begin to read it is not the noise of the world around you. The noise remains. What changes is your awareness of whether you are moving with your direction or against it — and therefore the quality of every decision you make inside that noise.
Each full moon marks a natural pause — a moment of fullness and illumination before the descent back into darkness. The IC Full Moon Retreats use this rhythm as a container for deep inner work: navigating decisions, dissolving blocks, and returning to coherence.
Online. Intimate. Open to all who are ready to read their own compass.
An introduction to the Inner Compass framework — the 5Cs, somatic awareness, and the EVA decision layer. An evening of honest inquiry, guided reflection, and the practice of reading what you already know. Open to all.
First Session · IntroductoryGoing deeper — working with the EVA framework and The Bottom Line as live decision tools. Participants bring a real decision or crossroads and work through it using the full IC architecture. Continuing from May or join fresh.
Second Session · Applied PracticeThree women named Eva have, from entirely different disciplines, arrived at the same conclusion: the most sophisticated navigation system available is internal, not external.
Defines confidence not as boldness, but as the quiet conviction that you can handle whatever outcome occurs. Her inner compass centres decisions internally — the deliberate silencing of negative noise to protect core personal truth.
Founding member of the Decision Making Design Group. Her life's work — navigating complex environments through Non-Violent Communication and participative process — is Coherence and Conscience in practice.
Environmental researcher whose work insists on measuring what actually sustains human and ecological life — not just what registers in accounts. The IC's Bottom Line in its deepest form.
Did my biological gut feelings and my empirical data achieve functional agreement — without compromising my peace?
This is the question at the heart of every IC session, every Full Moon retreat, and every decision the framework touches. It is personal. Non-negotiable. And it always tells the truth.
